End of the year, perfect time for new start

Wow. I can't believe it, I haven't write a single post on my blog since May 2009. Uf. That's really long period of time. It seems that I will become more active soonish. But let me first explain how my projects are going. Actually I will focus 100% on betting in this post, tough I was testing for last 9 months a very good Forex system.

New start

A month ago I really had some hard time in my life and still going through. Additionally my programmer who really made a great work on my betting prediction application quit working with me. So at this moment, very now, I am at a very beginning. And very alone.

Yesterday I started to post my betting pics free online again on Twitter (there is a twitter updates widget on left column of this blog). After many many months, things were re-tested and reviewed and I got something close to holly grail. How my first implementation finished I wrote in my last post: Why my betting application didn't work out well. What is most important now is how to go on:

• since I expanded collection of data for football matches from Premier League in England to all major leagues around the world, I am getting a lot of information much faster;
• more data means more picks, and at the same time, there is more days available to bet;
• soon I will start collect performance of my picks;
• for now, all football picks will be posted on my Twitter account http://twitter.com/th0rest , this will be so called DEMO period;
• picks will be published daily in the evening for the next day matches: example can be seen here: http://twitter.com/Th0rest/status/6771334277 .

Soon I will be back and explain how to use my signal in details, for those who are already familiar with betting everything would be clear from my Twitter posts. But if you have any questions, you are more than welcome.

Why my betting appliction didn't work out well

For the last two years I was working on online betting predictions. First I started with simple laying on horses with relatively high odd, bellow 1.6. The strategy behind was simple and can be found on various websites which are revealing so called "holly grail". The horses which are potential winners are often not winning, so laying on them brings nice profit. But it is not that easy and I was trying to use my statistical and other knowledge to build up an application, which would combine three major parameters: current odd (later on when Betfair added near price prediction, I used that odd), intelligence information (website which was predicting winners) and history results. First notion in my blog about this activity was in post Free Forex and betting signal over Twitter.

System was great when it got enough historical cases, i.e. around 100 events. But there was a little problem... Based on assumption, that I lay on odds 1.6 and lower, I ended laying on horses in interval of 2.5. - 3.1 (which was flexible of course, since my application was learning from new data). This interval is no longer high profit and my predictions seems to be very accurate. But if I missed it, there was major loss. This was no go, and after several months of posting my prediction on Twitter, I closed this story.


And went to next challenge, which was Premiership soccer games. Since I started it some months ago, it still didn't got enough data, but I got some very good results out of it. My strategy is betting on matches to have Over 2.5 goals. A very popular option of betting, since it doesn't matter who wins and scores, but only to have 3 goals on the single match. And surprisingly it happens many times, and with a little help of my application, results were even more accurate. So for next season I plan to rebuild my prediction application and get really profit of it. I am optimistic, as results shows high correlations with my signal, also posted on my Twitter page.

Lesson learned: methods and ways to make money on Internet are numerous. But everything must be tested first. And maybe most important thing: set your goals, and don't change them in the middle of a project. If you get bet results, try something else, from scratch.

From August last year I haven't receive any phishing email from Liberty Reserve... Last one was on Liberty Reserve - phishing emails - watch out. Today I received new one. It really is annoying when I see such emails, which can be very dangerous for Liberty Reserve users. So if you have money on Liberty Reserve, do never click on any link from email or suspicious websites.

Even if it looks like it is directly from LR, it just looks like. Even if link seems to be correct, believe me, it is just text, the real URL address behind is different and will take you to hostile site where they take your credentials.

First post this year - it's a shame

Maybe one would think, that I disappear or something. Well, I am here and surprisingly well, but the time is still major constrain. After finding out in 2008 that HYIP is no go, I rediscover two possible way of relatively but stable income source on the Internet. It would be sport betting, namely horse betting and forex trading. In the time when everyone is talking about economic recession, those two ways are most promising.

As far considers forex trading I would say, that you stay out of anything what is called managed, signal or automatic. At least for me it doesn't work, and it didn't... and prolly it never won't. I plan to get back into manual trading, but it takes time to catch the skills back. I am so rusty, you can't believe that.

For betting - things are slightly different. Some may recall I was writing about this in Free Forex and betting signal over Twitter . This signal over Twitter actually is still available, but I made complete reconstruction of my reverse engineering application, so now, when I have time, around 1pm GMT+1 post a horse bet prediction - when available. As always I am full of plans, but not all are feasible. My idea is to apply the same mechanism on UK soccer league. What will come out of this, I will keep you posted.
